4Motion Education

We LOVE learning and sharing our passion for learning with children, young people and teachers; we do this by MOVING and being CREATIVE.

4Motion works in over 40 primary, secondary and special education schools, working with 1250 children, young people and adults a week. We believe learning through moving and creativity is where ideas spark, confidence grows and learning thrives.

Working with school, teachers and young people is where 4Motion began back in 2006, this is where the foundation of our ethos evolved - that everyone can be creative, move and express themselves. We are specialists in delivering inclusive classes and training in special education schools, youth dance and yoga projects, and facilitating teacher training courses.

Let’s Collaborate!

4Motion believes in the power of collaboration – a place where conversations are shared, ideas sparked and long-term partnerships forged. We do this by promoting an equal and transparent dialogue between student-teacher-artist; all idea’s considered and explored to create a truly inclusive project.

 Here are some current and previous examples of projects 4Motion delivers in partnership with schools:

Together We Move

Together We Move is an inclusive dance project designed for every age, ability and experience, introducing fun, upbeat and cultural dances aiming to:

  • Lift the spirits of students and staff, supporting their physical and mental wellbeing;

  • Keep everyone moving, learning and laughing together through dance and creative movement;

  • Help school communities reunite after the Covid-19 pandemic.

Together We Move can be delivered online via our 4Motion Online Community platform or within social distance guidelines in your school. The dance is taught in six sections, each section focusing on a different dance style, culture and theme. Your students can learn each section over a 6-week half term period, or experience a taster workshop; all you need to do is learn the sections and fit them together like a jigsaw, then hey presto – you have a Together We Move dance! Dance Adventures: Move & Explore

Dress up as an explorer and join 4Motion on a Dance Adventure! 4Motion brings learning to life through story telling, play and creative movement, a fun dance project designed for 3-10 years. In each class the young people will visit new lands, places and ideas such as exploring Under the Sea, The Big City, Mini Beasts, Ancient Lands or A Trip to the Amazon. Dance Adventures can be delivered over a half term period (6-weeks) or over one academic year, and includes SOW and suggested props, costumes and creative tasks that can be developed in the classroom.

These long-term collaborations have created positive foundations, whereby we share our collective vision to help keep young people moving, active and healthy.

We have been funded by the British Council twice to deliver the ‘Big Dance’; an international dance project aiming to unite young people globally. We delivered this project in Lebanon to 750 young people and to schools across Slough, Berkshire.

Slough Music Service

A 1-month collaboration project with Slough Music Service, a professional musician (Neil Valentine) and Gifted and Talented primary school students in Slough. Once a year we work together to create an original performance, music and songs devised by the students. 4Motion has delivered this project every year, for 10 years.

Stanley Spencer Galley

We have worked with the Stanley Spencer Gallery in Cookham, Berkshire on a number of creative projects. We collaborated with local schools to use Stanley Spencer’s paintings as a stimulus, sparking creative learning to produce performances and films with students.
